One Direction freuen sich über zwei Kids' Choice Awards-Nominierungen.

One Direction gehen bei den diesjährigen Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards ins Rennen.

Die britische Gruppe - bestehend aus Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson und Zayn Malik - kann sich bei der Verleihung am 23. März in gleich zwei Kategorien Hoffnungen auf den begehrten Preis machen. Im Kampf um die Trophäe für die beste Band werden sie sich gegen Bon Jovi, Maroon 5 und Big Time Rush durchsetzen müssen, während ihnen in der Sparte 'Bester Song' Carly Rae Jepsen ('Call Me Maybe'), PSY ('Gangnam Style') und Taylor Swift ('We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together') Konkurrenz machen. One Direction selbst machten sich die Nominierung mit ihrem Hit 'What Makes You Beautiful' verdient.

Styles (19) erklärt dazu im Interview mit 'People': "Wir freuen uns über unsere Nominierungen bei den Kids' Choice Awards. Es war wunderbar, bei der Show im letzten Jahr 'What Makes You Beautiful' zum Besten zu geben. Wie immer danken wir unseren unglaublichen Fans und Unterstützern!"

Mit dem Preis für den besten Sänger können indes Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Usher und Blake Shelton rechnen. Um das weibliche Äquivalent wetteifern Adele, Katy Perry, Pink und Taylor Swift.

In den Filmkategorien dürfen derweil sowohl Kristen Stewart ('Snow White & the Huntsman') als auch Scarlett Johansson ('Marvel's The Avengers') und Jennifer Lawrence ('Hunger Games') auf zwei der Awards hoffen. Alle drei Schauspielerinnen wurden in der Kategorie 'Beste Filmschauspielerin' und für ihre Actioneinlagen ('Best Female Buttkicker') in ihren jeweiligen Filmen nominiert.

Als beste Filme stehen 'The Amazing Spider-Man', 'Marvel's The Avengers', 'Hunger Games' und 'Gregs Tagebuch 3 - Ich war's nicht!' zur Auswahl, während neben Johnny Depp ('Dark Shadows') unter anderem auch Will Smith ('Men in Black 3') und 'Spider-Man'-Darsteller Andrew Garfield als bester Filmschauspieler in Frage kommen.

Moderiert wird das Event von 'Transformers'-Darsteller Josh Duhamel.
