Das Glück ist ein Vogerl…
La Rondine in einer Inszenierung von Rolando Villazón an der Oper Graz

Sie gilt als eine der am wenigsten bekannten Opern Puccinis, die vor genau hundert Jahren zum ersten Mal in Monte Carlo aufgeführt wurde.

La Rondine“ – Die Schwalbe flog zusammen mit Startenor Rolando Villazón zwar nicht über das Meer, aber von der Deutschen Oper Berlin, wo er die Oper, die ursprünglich eine Operette werden sollte, 2015 inszenierte, an die Grazer Oper. Unter der musikalischen Leitung von Marco Comin und tosendem Applaus unter anderem von Opernsängerin Natalia Ushakova, Opern-Redoute-Chef Bernd Pürcher und Altbürgermeister Alfred Stingl fand am 12. Jänner die Premiere vor gut besuchtem Hause statt.

Magda (Sophia Brommer überzeugte bereits in „Luisa Miller“ und hauchte auch „ihrer“ Magda Seele ein) lebt im Pariser Palais ihres wohlhabenden Gönners Rambaldo (grandios besetzt mit Wilfried Zelinka) und sinniert dort im Salon mit Freunden über die Liebe. Vielmehr sinnieren sie nicht über die Liebe, sondern über den Traum von der Liebe, über eine neue Mode, von welcher der Dichter Prunier (gesungen von einem überzeugenden Pavel Petrov) berichtet: die sentimentale Liebe.

Zwischen Rambaldo und Magda funktioniert es an sich gut. Er finanziert ihr ihren ausschweifenden Lebensstil, sie bezahlt mit ihrer Anwesenheit und gibt die Dame des Hauses.

Diese Geschichte muss in Paris spielen, in ihren sündigen Etablissements, die sich feiner geben, als sie sind. Verstärkt wird das Bild der überbordenden Lebesucht durch den Transport der Handlung in die dreißiger Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts (hervorragende kostümische Umsetzung von Brigitte Reiffenstuel). Wohl frei nach dem Motto „Ein wenig Travestie schadet nie.“, wird dem geneigten Publikum auch ein Herr in flotten Damenkleidern präsentiert. Wozu? Das weiß man nicht. Vielleicht galt es eine Quote zu erfüllen.

Als Ruggero (Mickael Spadaccini gab sein Debut an der Grazer Oper), ein junger Mann aus der Provinz, in Paris eintrifft, ändert sich Magdas Leben. Sie verlässt Rambaldo, um fortan in trauter Zweisamkeit mit Ruggero an der französischen Riviera zu leben. Doch: Hüte dich vor Träumen, die wahr werden. Sobald der junge Mann das Einverständnis seiner Eltern für die Hochzeit mit Magda erhält, entscheidet sich diese, ihn zu verlassen. Sie klärt ihn noch über ihren Lebenswandel auf, wohl um einen Vorwand zu haben, dass sie nicht die Richtige für ihn ist und um ihn vor sich zu „schützen“.
 

Tatsächlich aber entgleisen Magdas Gesichtszüge als Ruggero ihr darlegt, wie er sich das zukünftige gemeinsame Leben vorstellt: Ein Leben unter der Obhut seiner Mutter in gutbürgerlicher Idylle, Baby und abgeschiedenes Leben inklusive. Die Mimik ist eine gnadenlose Verräterin: Das will Magda nicht.

In der Zwischenzeit hat Rambaldo, ahnend, dass das Liebesglück eine kurze Halbwertzeit hat, Magdas Zofe Lisette (gegeben von einer zu Recht umjubelten Tatjana Miyus) ausgesandt, um Magda wieder nach Paris, in sein Haus zu holen. Die Ordnung wird wiederhergestellt.

Das Bühnenbild (Johannes Leiacker) wird geprägt von einer überdimensionalen "Venus von Urbino" von Tizian. Sie thront als Inbegriff der weiblichen Verlockung, die zugleich objektbehaftet ist, über der gesamten Szenerie. Das Thema der Frau als Gegenstand wird mehrfach in dieser starken Inszenierung Villazóns aufgegriffen. So spielt Prunier auf dem nackten Rücken der Liesette wie auf einem Cello.

Der Objektstatus der Frau wird noch durch das Faktum untermauert, dass gerade Magda und Lisette der Meinung sind, selbst die Strippenzieherinnen zu sein – doch irren ist nicht nur männlich.
 

Das Stück wird begleitet von Herren ohne Gesichter. Sie sind die Verkörperung von Magdas Traum von der Liebe. Die Gesichter spielen dabei keine Rolle. Die Figuren sind austauschbar. Es geht um das Spiel der Liebe.
Als Magda und Ruggero die Realität einholt, findet der Spieltrieb ein jähes Ende. Unter dem Vorwand ihres früheren Lebens und dessen Unzumutbarkeit für Ruggero und dessen Familie, verlässt Magda den jungen Mann. Als sie geht, setzt sie ihm eine Maske auf, wie sie auch die anderen männlichen Traumgestalten tragen. Nichts an Ruggero und an ihrer Liebe ist einzigartig. Beides ist austauschbar, sein Gesicht ohne Belang.

Die Musik? Himmlisch - Gänsehaut garantiert. Wie sollte sie sonst sein?! Wir reden schließlich von Puccini!

Fazit: Das Glück ist ein Vogerl… Manchmal eine Schwalbe.
